an overview and short history of

DOAGHBEg

introduction

Welcome to our website. This site is dedicated to a small town-land in the North-East of the Fanad peninsula called Doaghbeg.

The main aim of this site is quite simple.  It will give visitors a look at some historical and current information relating to the history of Doaghbeg and its people.

Information relating to the history of Doaghbeg is relatively scarce, but in April 2020 a group of locals came together to form a group chat while under ‘lock-down’ restrictions from Covid19.  The aim of this chat was to start a conversation about the town-land we know and love so well.  Many stories, photos and records were shared, and this information was used to create this site.

Like most rural town-lands, a lot of local history died along with its people, therefore gathering this information now has never been more important.

We hope the keep the site fresh with new information over the years and we call upon visitors to share their stories, photos and any details they may have relating to Doaghbeg.

If you feel any information on the site is incorrect, irrelevant or you don't agree with it, please let us know and we will be more than happy to assist you.
